Participation

We have a strong tradition of parent participation at Malvern Valley Primary School, as we believe that a child’s education is most successful when it is built on a strong partnership between home and school. Our families take great pride in being actively involved in both our school community and the wider local community.

There are many meaningful and welcoming opportunities for parents and carers to be involved in school life, including:

• Parents’ Association
• School Council and School Council sub-committees
• Fundraising activities and community events
• Working bees and grounds improvement days
• Education evenings and parent information sessions
• Classroom support (e.g. reading with students and learning activities)
• Excursions and special events
• Assistance with class-based activities and programs
• Sports training, including before-school sport programs
• School camps and outdoor education experiences

We warmly encourage families to get involved in ways that suit them. Our school is proud of its strong sense of community, where families are welcomed, valued and included as active partners in their child’s learning journey.

At Malvern Valley Primary School, we know that strong school–home partnerships help create confident, connected and successful learners—and we love seeing our community come together.

Working With Childrens Check

At Malvern Valley Primary School, we take Child Safety Standards very seriously. The safety and wellbeing of all students is our highest priority.

All volunteers are required to hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).

If you do not currently have a WWCC, please apply using this link. When completing your application, please ensure you list Malvern Valley Primary School as an organisation where you will be volunteering.

If you already hold a WWCC, please ensure your details are updated to include Malvern Valley Primary School as a volunteer organisation.

Exemptions:

• VIT registered teachers are exempt from holding a WWCC; however, a current VIT card must be presented to the school office. Please note VIT cards expire annually in September and must be renewed and re-presented each year.
• Serving police officers are also exempt but must present valid police identification to the school office annually.

These requirements support our Child Safety obligations and ensure compliance with the Malvern Valley WWCC Register procedures.
