A day at Camp….
As our students didn’t get to go to camp due to COVID 19, the 3-6’s had a day camp right here in our amazing school grounds. Camp is all about being outdoors, showing teamwork and being independent. Classes undertook scavenger hunts (apparently very hard!), enjoyed marshmallows around the campfire (imaginative), played some cooperative games and then had to use some smart thinking to get everyone across a crocodile infested river (the sandpit) with only a few pieces of bark to help. After lunch they got to enjoy a movie and snacks.

Set a Goal, Aim for it, Ready your Mindset, Have a Go, Evaluate, and Try Again!

MVPS Students are encouraged to have their goals in sight, take aim to achieve them, take a moment to get in the right mindset, then give it a go with all their abilities. Perhaps they met their target, perhaps they didn’t, either way, evaluate and try again! It's all about developing that Growth Mindset.

Social Inclusion Week - 21 - 29 November, 2020
Throughout primary school, feeling included in the playground is essential to a student’s self-confidence and the development of their social and emotional well-being. The diversity of MVPS’ playground areas and lunch-time activities caters to the individuality of our student's interests and social interactions.

Social inclusion does not mean that children have to play with everyone all of the time, but it does mean they have to know how to make others feel welcome and included in the same shared playing space of the playground.
Through MVPS’ wellbeing program, students talk about and are encouraged to act with empathy, work in teams, look for opportunities to help others, and develop positive communication skills that support social acceptance in the playground and throughout their lives.
